The history of the Grass House<\/h2>\n

It was originally used as a court and prison before being converted into the city archives in the 19th century. Today it houses the EUROPE DIRECT, which deals with issues related to the European Union, as well as the office of the Foundation International Charlemagne Prize, which awards the prestigious Charlemagne Prize. Particularly impressive is the Hall of Documents, set up in the former ruins of the Grass House and equipped with numerous display cases.
